Expanded Opportunities
Every student learns in his or her own way - the doers, the thinkers, watchers and readers and everyone in between. Ontario schools are offering expanded opportunties to meet students' individual learning styles, interests and goals which will better prepare them for graduation and beyond.
There are many programs offered with the Limestone District School Board for students pursuing apprenticeship, college, university or the workplace after graduation. Expanded Opportunities include:
- Specialist High Skills Major - allow students to focus on a future career through a bundle of classroom courses, workplace experiences and sector certifications.

to Mr. Mol in the Technology Department or a Guidance counsellor.
- Co-operative Education allows students to count this hands-on experiential learning towards two compulsory high school credits.
- E-Learning provides students with on-line courses and allows teachers to share resources across the province.
- Dual credits count towards a student's high school diploma as well as a college certificate, diploma or apprenticeship certification.
- Focus Programs allow students to concentrate on a particular field of interest or training while receiving the necessary academic certification and/or work experience.
- OYAP provides students with the opportunity to work towards a career in the skilled trades
