• Sydenham Golden Eagles Senior Football Team Drops Heartbreaker at the Rogers Centre - (posted on 11/24/2010)
The Senior Golden Eagles just about completed a dream season with a dream ending after coming from behind to force overtime in a spectactular game between Sydenham and Crestwood at the Rogers Centre. However, after the Eagles got the ball first in overtime, they couldn't score against a tough Crestwood team. Crestwood then booted a game-winning field goal after taking possession to take the game 16-13. Read more about the game and team here and here and here.
The staff, students, administrators and just about everyone in our community has been 100% behind the boys and we couldn't be prouder of their effort and we are all amazed by the amount of time they've put in during this unbelievable season.
We're all proud of the team and the coaches and what they've done this year is something they can take with them for the rest of their lives. Well done Eagles - you've done yourselves, the school and the community proud.

The HEAL Award recognizes schools who are working hard to create learning environments that promote health and wellness alongside academic excellence. These schools were recognized for engaging their school community in becoming a healthier school by Trustees and Senior Staff at the September 8 Board meeting.• Respect in the Workplace: What Parents/Caregivers Need to Know
Effective June 15, 2010 new Provincial Legislation came into effect with respect to Violence and Harassment in the Workplace. As a result, LDSB has implemented two new procedures: Respect in the Workplace and Violence in the Workplace. The goal of these procedures is to foster safe learning and working environments so that staff and students can work and learn without fear of harassment, discrimination and violence. Responsibilities of the Board extend to developing and implementing programs aimed at reporting, investigating and addressing harassment and violence concerns.
These procedures apply not only to staff and students, but also to parents/legal guardians, members of the broader school community as well as the general public.
Please refer the the LDSB website for more information: www.limestone.on.ca/safeschools as well as www.limestone.on.ca/board/documents/procedures/ wherein you will find the detailed procedures in Section 400, starting with AP - 405. Paper copies can also be made available upon request.
