KCVI’s coat of arms was granted and assigned by Robert Watt, Chief Herald of Canada, under the authority of Her Excellency the Right Honourable Jeanne Sauve, Governor General of Canada. The Letters Patent were issued on December 4, 1989 and were unveiled the following year by the Honourable Lincoln Alexander, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. The armorial bearings were granted as a way of marking the bicentennial of the school.
